So now you know. 2nd Light's a surf spot, Optimus Prime is a Transformer and if you knew what wetware is without looking it up, then you're officially a geek. Keep in mind though, it's cool to be a geek AND that in our information society, geeks will inherit the earth. Hope you had fun with this extra credit. The point of the exercize was to pinpoint detail. We can generalize, and tend to in our writing, but as Mies Van der Rohe said, "God is in the details." Look around where ever you wander and you'll see new things, find new interests and get smarter in the process.

This week we will be delving deeper into the testing process and practicing the multiple choice sections of the test. We'll also get out a new book entitled How to Read a Poem. We've examined a lot of lyrics as poetry, now we'll take the music away. Same rules hold true, same process. There are only 8 or 9 school daze till the test, we're in the stretch, keep up just a little longer.

If you have any outstanding work due, please see me. If you've been out, remember it's your responsibility to check for and make up missing assignments. Often I will excuse you out of in-class assignments, but you must see me first. Now is also the time to make sure you take care of your attendance issues. Don't wait till report cards are issued.
