Welcome. It's week two already. You've written at least some of your first essay in your journal (journals are due January 20th), and on Friday you will begin another. We're off and running and run we will to our finish line some time around the first week of May.

We've begun with some terminology that isn't really a part of rhetoric (id, ego and superego, make sure you know these terms) and your first online assignment is to now associate these with the building blocks of rhetoric, sometimes referred to as the modes of persuasion, namely logos, ethos and pathos. Each of these, the first three of your rhetorical terms, can be associated with those Freudian terms we've addressed reading The Cat in the Hat. In your journals, address this association. In simpler terms: How are id, ego and superego related to logos, ethos and pathos?
