Paradox, Portmanteau, Prose, Iambic Pentameter. No, these are not psychedelic terms from the 60s, but four of your literary or figuative terms. Remember, avoid dictionary definitions, they hinder rather than help. Use google or wikipedia and put into your own words, using your own examples.

Make sure you have the rest in tow as well: Mood, setting, verisimilitude, alliteration, allusion, foreshadowing, symbolism, metonymy, metaphor, simile, personification, aphorism, hyperbole, analogy, conceit, conundrum, infinitive, onomatopoeia, oxymoron, assonance and consonance. 25 in all, for now. Juniors these may be new to you. If you want my input, ask. Seniors, you should already know these, be using them and be thinking in these terms.
