Several of you expressed your concerns regarding the grades you will receive this marking period. Those of you who know me know that I am willing to negotiate and even to bargain, through extra or alternative work, for the grades you desire. Nonetheless, remember that success in this class is up to you. For any course, the required amount of work outside of class is equal to the amount of time in class. For AP that requirement may indeed double. Ask yourself how much time you spent on the Native American essay. I would suggest that four to six hours was appropriate. How'd you do?
Did you ask for help? I'm always there for you, but keep in mind that it is not my responsibility to teach you what you should have already learned. If your writing skills are poor, you'll have to practice. You may have to buy yourself a book or software (or ask me) or get on the internet. I can lead you in the right direction, but I am not willing to work harder for your education than you are!
End of sermon, but tomorrow we'll review a formula that will help you to succeed both here and in your future endeavors.
